First i want to thank GOD for not let me into another Insurance Claim!
Anyway i got a 2k2 Se, i went to the car wash today they wash my car real good i was happy she was clean, at a trafic light i push on the brakes the most craziest thing happen my ABS started to make all this noise and then my brake pedal LOCKED completly "no Brakes" oh **** i was so close to the other car i was just save by God and the E brake dont get me wrong i still hit the SUV but it was minor scrathes, i ask the driver how much he wanted because is not even worth calling police or insurance he said all i want is for you to drive safe and have a nice day..... damn nice guy...god bless that man...anyway my best advice is dont let them wash the bottom of the car and if you do be aware that your brakes can be locked and just have your hand on the E brake, my car got scratches but i can take them out with scratch X and plenty of waxing....

this stuff should be a important sticky since it can happen to anyone here right?

Hey, i am going to tell you that there is something TOTALLY wrong with your brakes, and you should have them checked... I will give you a story that will help you to understand.

In my old mazda protege, for some strange reason, after a wash, or getting the brakes wet, my brakes would NEVER work.. I would push the brake down and hits the floor but even from 10km/h i can not stop..

I took it to dealership after dealership.. they found NOTHING WRONG..

I crashed in to my garage, hit walls, etc.. So for a while after anytime my brakes are wet, i would ride the brakes for the longest time until they were dry..

Till i got fed up and took it to a local brake shop. It turns out the brakes were fine but the hardware (springs, brackets, etc) were mounted incorrectly.. They fixed it.. NO PROBLEMS after.. no matter how wet the brakes, they worked..

Go get your car checked..

ED
