No O2 sensor behind main cat?

No O2 sensor behind main cat?
I noticed this week when I had my exhuast done, that there is no O2 sensor after the main cat. I am assuming this means you can remove it and not get a check engine light. This is pretty strang for an OBDII vehicle. Has anyone done this?

I also think Custommaxima sells a bolt-on test pipe if you wanted to do this.
