2k3 Bose head unit question

I have a portable MP3 player that I want to use with my car but I don't want a lot of loose cables dangling all over the place. Does the Bose head unit have an auxiliary input with RCA cables coming from under the dash?

You can get a FM modulator. This will require you to remove the HU.

What does the modulator do - send out the data as a radio frequency?

I'm doing this now. I have an older creative nomad that I plan on hooking up via a fm modulator.. it just broadcasts whatever you plug into it to a radio station and you just tune your radio to that.

Check out this site: http://www.arkon.com/. They make/sell a lot of mounts for CD players, phones, pdas, and mp3 players as well as FM modulators (coined SoundFeeders on their site).

I ordered the CD player mount/FM modulator for mine. I may end up not using the mount if its too much in the way and just figure out somewhere else to put it..but who knows.

Thanks for the info, Bobcat. How hard is it to connect the FM modulator to the head unit? Must you remove the headunit?

There's no connecting, that's the point of the FM modulator. You hook the mp3 player to the modulator, then power, then tune your radio to whatever station is says to and you're done.

Ah, I see...

Let me know how it turns out! Would like to know before I buy!

Thanks

Well, there's different kinds of FM modulators. You can get one that hooks up to the antenna input in the back of the HU. And some like the one that bobcat is using.
