question about warranty

I just recently passed 36,000 miles.
I was wondering how much an extended warranty would cost me?
I figure i should have this info. ready because i already blew out my transmission once and that COULD have cost me about 2.000.
I'm in queens, NY if that matters.
Can anyone help?

You can try a local dealership and ask their finance department, they should sell the Nissan Security Plus and also an aftermarket extended warranty. Also a search on the web might turn something up. As for price it will vary on the level of protection, deductible amount, and length of contract. The fact that you have gone over the basic factory warranty hurts too because you will have to buy a used as opposed to a new car contract. Scrutinize the covered items lists thoroughly and also be sure to read and understand the exclusions.
Personally I wouldn't own a car today without one, there are just too many things that can go wrong.

PS make sure they pay claims by credit card through phone/fax!
