2k1 Engine question

Yesterday I was in the shop getting an oil change. I was standing in front of the car when the tech went to start the car after changing the oil. When the engine came on it looked like as if the engine was trying to rip itself out of the car or something.

Is this normal? does the engine move that much when it starts? I remember reading something about some engine mount tsb or problem on the forum awhile back. could i have this problem?

It could be a motor mount, what did the tech say?

I didnt bring it up to the tech. It was a local shop and not the dealer. Figured he wouldnt have known.

Just curious if other cars are like this too. Does the engine shake violently when you start the car?

the motors on all cars shake a little when started, dont they? A little shaking should be normal, but motor mounts could be bad...

Unless it's just an absurd amout of movement, it's completely normal. It takes a lot of torque for the starter to turn over any motor... especially our VQ POWER!!!
