Robbed!!!!!!!!!

This is my first post here but I've been reading the forum for the last month or two.

I just bought a used 2000 SE 5spd max fully loaded two weeks ago. I park my car blocking my drive way cause my old car has no plates on it and it's in the drive way. I woke up the other morning to find 2 of my rims stolen and the right side of my car propped up on a cement block

I could not believe this sh*t they stole them right infront my house on the side facing my house. They got *****!!!!!!!! The bad part is I just bought new Nitto NT555's for all the wheels. I call the Nissan dealer up and find out that each 17" wheel cost $578. I could not afford that so I went to this used wheel place and I found them for $150 each. They were cleaned and polished and in good condition so it was a good buy. I replaced my tires at $280 for both and added two sets of wheel locks on each rim. Then I went by my friend who installs alarms and put on an alarm with a pager. The alarm works in conjunction with the factory security system so I'm double protected. After all was said and done I about $1000.

Insurance was an option but rather not have my premiuim go up and it would have cost me more in the long run.............Owning a car in NYC (Brooklyn) is rough, you have to be prepared for anything but I should have known better and had it secure from the beginning.

That really sucks. I have not heard of anyone stealing OEM wheels.

Thanks for the link. I got a Hornet 554T alarm, same company as Viper but just marketed under a different name. Also I when I went to the tire spot the guy was telling me that a lady her two rims stolen on the left side the week b4. She lives about 10 blocks from me..........coincidence? But car thefts and vandalism has been up in my part of BK according to the cops.

Yeah I was thinking that......he had three of them. Actually he had replacements for almost every make of car you can think about. It's a new shop and they mainly sell new wheels, they were the only place in Brooklyn or Queens that I found them. You never know where he got them from..........

What's the name of this shop? I life in Brooklyn. If to had posted here and ask want precautions you should take in parking a Max on the streets of Brooklyn, the first thing I would of say is get wheel locks. They will steal your rims like it aint nothing out there if there are not secure.

The name of the shop is Pete's Tires and Wheels, it's on Linden and Williams Ave. I think it's East NY/Canarise. The shop stands out cause it's the only flashy place around there.

Oh yeah I put on 2 sets of locks on each wheel along with the alarm

Your premium does not go up for comprehensive claims i.e Theft, vandalism, trees falling on it... etc etc

God Da*n It!
There's no chance of having anything nice in NYC. Now that you said my bro-in-laws had his RL w/aftermarket chromies stolen about two months ago right in front of his house. They must have towed since his club was still on the wheel when they found it. They dropped it about 10 blocks and took his wheels. $1500 gone down the drain. Let me tell you.. NYC is hard place to live in and with the economy the way that it is now.. get ready for lots more horror stories. I am down for a lay and wait to beat an @sshole caught in the act.
