the sounds of discontent...

A few selected sounds of max ownership brought to you via my ipaq (hence the low quality)

first... a normal start..

This is a cold start (but at noon, so its only a fraction of what it does in the morning. I'll try to cap that tomorrow)

also note the damn sound the AC compressor makes.. I hear most maximas doing this.. including our pathfinder. I hate that sound. I cant get them to replace the AC clutch 'cause its normal... not *right* just normal.

compared to #1, I think thats a sticking starter. again, its MUCH louder in the morning. I mean nasty loud..

And this.. My car sounds like I have ball bearings laying around in there. A-pillar is off, glove box empty.. nothing in the car anywhere.. this is just the dash against the windshield

Either I hit a pothole in this one.. or a small animal. :/

Don't know about the starts, the cold one is a little harsh, but what do you expect from an ice cold engine?

My A/C sounds exactly the same as yours does and I don't have any issues with it? It's quite normal for any compressor to sound strange when it's turned on the first time. There's no head pressure. Listen to your home A/C turn on, quite a different sound when it's first turned on then when it's running with normal head pressure.

well, wait until I get one of the morning (that one was at noon).. I should have waited until I had that captured. You cant really appreciate it until you've heard *that* one.

My compressor clutch is rattling. Its annoying and most other cars dont do it, nor did mine for at least 2 years. That was captured from the driver seat, not down at the compressor.

That's nothing. You should hear the radiator fans in my 2k1. when they kick in, it sounds like you're riding in a Cessna. Of course the dealer sez it's okay.

Man, I'm actually glad to hear that I'm not the only one with that problem, it's actually refreshing. Anyway Tim, I would say that you're ok as far as I can tell, my car has been doing that for over a year and I've no problems out of it at all.

I love this site, you guys offer so much here, I learn something new everyday, thanks.
