Couple of days ago, I saw a 4th gen Maxima with dual exhaust line, It look really great, I am wondering if there any gain going with that configuration, not talking about back pressure issue. Do you guys think that is just a look thing or is there a real advantage doing that.

You probably gain a bit in the high end hp with a dual exhaust setup. I am guessing it was just split after the cat.

You will gain nothing, but weight and you'll loose your spare tire well because it has to be cut out to make room.

The reason you won't gain any power is because you're adding more pipe, bends, and another muffler which will all hinder exhaust flow. The stock 20th exhaust is plenty big for the VQ. All you need is a y-pipe and intake. If you do feel crazy, sell me your muffler.

The dual setup looks very good, but that's all it is....looks I'm all about function when it comes to performance. I don't like "fake" dual exhausts because they serve no performance purpose (Pontiac Grand Prix, Accord V6, Acura TL, Z28/Trans Am). When I had my 94 Z28, I got rid of the dual outlet muffler/catback in favor for a large 3" bus exhaust single out Flowmaster catback. The sound was awesome and the performance was great. Plus, everyone thought I was V6 pretending to a Z28. That's until I layed into the throttle and the LT1 screamed like a banshee on it's way to mid 13s@104mph
