MAF Housing question

The little plastic tube with the MAF on it - the one that is in between the throttle bodies and stock air box.

When you put in a new intake such as an Injen or AEM that comes with a tube, do you take off that housing? If so, will somebody please sell me theirs? I cracked mine today trying to get it off. The damn thing is tight as hell against the throttle body!

Gotta have that part. How badly cracked is it. The MAF tells your motor how much air it is getting. It is very important. I seriously doubt anyone will just give you theirs. If the crack is minor, you may be able to repair it if it is just the housing and not the internals.

I knew that the MAF itself was important, but I thought that maybe it attaches to the tube on an aftermarket intake as opposed to the housing. If thats not the case after checking with my local junk yards what would be the best place to get one? I siloconed it for now.

I think the only intake that gets rid of that plastic piece is the Firm Fabrications intake, but I may be wrong. If you cant get one at a junkyard a dealership is most likely your best bet.
