PICS! My 2k2 Max accident photos - Thanks ARKUS

Thanks Arkus for taking the pics!!!

http://www.pbase.com/minirx7/2k2_accident

Need opinions, do you guys think this is a fix or write off?

Both HIDs' gone, radiator, fendor, bumper hood, some minor supports, air filter box, battery, tray, etc...

Engine runs, apparently no frame damage, and drivers door opens.

No word from insurance until tommorrow, but the suspense is killing me.

Glad you are alright. Did the airbags deploy?

Those pics are so sad. Glad you are ok, though. I'd hope the insurance company gives you replacement cost.

That's just about the damage my car had. Insurance will fix it.

Here's what my car needed off the top of my head.

Hood
Headlights
Fenders
bumper
Radiator
Paint all the way to back fender
and my whole front suspension on the divers side was put in new
None of my airbags went out as well.
No frame damage in mine as well, the total came out to 15k.

You really did have a bad Birthday. I thought my birthday sucked last week when a wind blown trash can jumped out in front of my car, and I clipped it head on at 30 mph. That doesn't even compare.

How is it that the airbags didn't go off with all that frontal damage?

I hear deployed airbags add another $2k to $3k in repair bills....

That is defintely not a write off. No frame damage, air bags didn't go off, front bumper hardly pushed in, mainly the radiator support and stuff around it was messed up.

That car is defintely not totalled.

Damn, no airbags because the bar on the truck was higher than my bumper..

Now seeing that there is no frame damage, will there be a chance this car can make it back to 100% again?? if not, i might have to b!tch witht he insurance to push for write off..

My car feels like new.And the suspension parts on the drivers side were replaced too, basically all the damage your car has is cosmetic, just sheetmetal, when it gets to the frame, then you should push insurance to write it off.

Just have a reputable bodyshop do the job.

Who told you that it was $12,000 in damage? From the looks of it, I'd guess aout half that amount.

definitely not totalled. when i hit a deer my car was just about as bad as that, if not worse, but my airbags did deploy (another $1500 right there). came out to be $12,000 US dollars. but thankfully now its like it never happened.

After a lot of debating, thinking this is a total opportunity to JUMP INTO A G35..

I decided not to... with all the DEEP discounting of the 2k3 Maxima SE, i think i am going to buy another maxima becasue the G35 is over $10,000 more than the Maxima... I can't justify doing that right now because i have a lot of other debt obligations to deal with..

I think the 2k3 maxima will suit me juust fine..

This is not intended to flame you ED or anything but how could you even think of getting another maxima.....esp a 5th gen...when you had so much trouble with your 2K2, how many threads did we see about how much your Max was a pos.

its totalled? $16,000 Canadian is only like $10,500 US. not even 50% of the price of the car. that is kind of surprising.

Not really ... do you know how miserable the resale on our Maxima's are? Especially since the 6th gen is due out sooner than anticipated ... like Ed said .. there are huge discounts on the 2003 Maxima's now.
