Many people are having a hard time finding the 2k3 in a 6SP. You are right, it is VERY fun to drive!

So much for the 6sp not holding it's value.

They had none when I bought my car. What a load of BS that is. As for making you pay for the dealer swap, that's just them being greedy. You shouldn't be charged for something they should have available to them for nothing or next to nothing. Dealers suxk. Too bad when you want to buy a car you have to go through them.

Just a thought...not a flame...but since you already bought the auto, AND this issue is almost 2 months old now...why dwell on it?

Ummm...could it be:

Post Purchase Dissonance?

"The dictionary defines dissonance as "jarring, clashing, discordant". Post Purchase Dissonance is that unpleasant feeling you get when you've just bought something and it's not quite right.

It might be that it doesn't do what the sales rep said it would.
Or you found out that you paid too much.
Or perhaps your friends don't like the colour of it...
*edit*You didn't get your new Maxima in a 6 Speed*edit*

You feel bad, ashamed, silly, dumb, angry, annoyed, furious, hurt, betrayed etc."

It won't sell for under $19K since it has a reserve which has not yet been met.

Maybe so, but its a six speed in Georgia. Hell, I paid 22 and change for mine,(03' six speed) out the door so you never know what you might be able to negotiate.

It's EBAY, it is not a negotiated transaction.

Yes, it is E-bay however, its at a car dealer, are you saying you can't negotiate even though its a car dealer?

You do realize that I satiated the topic here, I provided an answer to the posters question, here is a Maxima, in Georgia. Using that pretense, since the poster lives in Georgia, and has the ability to go to the car dealer as he stipulated Georgia as his State of interest.I am sure that he could negotiate.

Here is the short of it, if you don't fathom this, i'm sorry.

1)The original poster lives in Georgia. Hence the original reasoning for my posting this reply.

2)His query was about a 6-speed Maxima, in Georgia. Expounding on the rationale for my first explanation, so this reply is two-fold one, I found a Maxima in the right geographic location, ie State, as original poster decreed. Not only is it in Georgia, but its a six speed.

Now, build upon that, since I never interjected you can or can't negotiate, you are now stating to me that since the original poster lives in said State, and that said car is a what the crux of his question is...that even if the car on E-bay doesn't sell for the reserve, I am sure, if he were so inclined, could venture to listed car dealer, and negotiate a selling price, as again, his querry was originally answered with respect to his location and stipulations.

Dang!! I never saw such a long winded rambling reply to being corrected. Crap, if you have that kind of time, imagine what you could accomplish if you did something useful with it.

I get a freaking novel in reply to my comment that you are WRONG, plain and simple. With EBAY there is not negotiating. Period. It is a third party mediated sales forum.

If you can't deal with the fact you needed to be corrected, you are way too sensitive.

How did it ramble? I thought it was concise, albeit belaboring to quell your replies. I am an attorney, I have accomplished many things in my life, thank you.

Its not a novel, its a reply, simple as that. And yes with E-bay you do have room to negotiate, if the former were true, I would not have been able to 'haggle' the seller of my big screen TV's purchase price down, as it didn't sell for reserve, the auction ended, and I simply had an e-mail conversation with the seller, thereby negotiating a sale price, on an item from E-bay.

I am not being corrected, I am replying to you that since the posters question was, "How hard is it to find a six-speed in Georgia" I answered every singular phrase of his question, did I not?

Here we go again Bubba. One more time. If you don't get it then I am done with you.

1. Ramble: self explanatory. Read your post, and put down the Thesaurus, noone is impressed.

2. NO you do not have room with EBAY. By your own admission, your activities were handled OUTSIDE the arena of EBAY. Just because an item HAD been on there, does not mean it is still an EBAY transaction.

3. I CORRECTED you on a faulty statement...NOT the whole issue of this thread or topic. I NEVER addressed or questioned any of your comments on the rest of the original post.

My name is not Bubba, thank you.

1. Ramble: self explanatory. Read your post, and put down the Thesaurus, noone is impressed.
How is it a ramble when the person replying can't understand it? I am not trying to impress anyone, I am bringing my point to the forefront as you obviously couldn't fathom it.

2. NO you do not have room with EBAY. By your own admission, your activities were handled OUTSIDE the arena of EBAY. Just because an item HAD been on there, does not mean it is still an EBAY transaction.
By my admission I stated I negotiated a sale under the guise of E-bay, would I have known about seller if they were not on E-bay, probably not as my purchase were from California and I live in Flordia, but irregardless, I negotiated a purchase from E-bay.

Using that logic, as you said the car couldn't be negotiated for becasue of the arena it was in, its you who are incorrect, as I did the same, but on a smaller sale, in relation to my TV, did I not? So, to reference myself again, if poster were to negotiate a sale on said vehicle if the reserve price wasn't attained, he would be negotiating a sale on E-bay from a vendor, on E-bay, just as I did, which is the diometric opposite of what you keep saying.

3. I CORRECTED you on a faulty statement...NOT the whole issue of this thread or topic. I NEVER addressed or questioned any of your comments on the rest of the original post.
No, you are saying something isn't possible to do, even though I have first hand experience with it. So again, there is no correction. You said something couldn't happen because of the type of venue the article was in, and I countered with me doing the exact opposite of your thought, so no correction was made.

Hey jjs,
In all honesty, I don't think you quite understood what Sam was saying. I'm not taking sides here by any means, but I see what he was saying.

All that he's saying is that you can haggle with dealer in GA that has the 6sp OUTSIDE of EBay. He never said you can negotiate DURING the actual auction, but can simply drive up to the dealership, if so inclined, and haggle on the spot, as most of us did while shopping for the car. I think you guys are talking about two different issues here, and thus the confusion.

Bottom line: the initial thread starter didn't post this so we can rub in the fact that he's stuck with the auto, yet everyone seems to reply in a manner that would definitely **** ME off I had posted this. I think he was looking for some sympathy, rather than being told how unlucky he is to be stuck with the 6 speed.

That being said, I think if one looks hard enough, and doesn't rush anything, he/she can find a 6 speed (at least 2 months ago was the case). It may not be easy depending on your geographic location and such, but if you are intent on getting a 6 speed, I don't see how that cannot be reasonably worked out.

Anyhow, a Max even with an auto is a great car, and although a 6 speed would have been better, what's done is done, and just enjoy what you have.

My $.02

Very ironic. I had a dealer in Huntsville looking for a specific Sterling Mist 6 speed half of April and May of 2002. Even though they found the EXACT one in Athens, GA at Carriage, they wouldn't deal with them or do a dealer swap. So, I was SOL. Determined to get that car in Athens, I had another dealer in Decatur, AL try. 6 days later, she was in my garage!

.

I say get ready us 2K2 and 2K3 6-speed owners. I have a feeling that our cars are going to go up in value when the 2K4's come out.
