After reading about all the HID thefts recently, it occurred to me that they all have one thing in common. The tabs. Are all the tabs broken on these things when they are yanked? If this is the case, when someone needs to install these won't they have to get this part replaced? Is this a part that can be ordered seperately? You would think that people purchasing "liberated" HIDS could be tracked by ordering these tabs. Just a thought.

 

Or maybe they are taking out the bulbs and ballasts and selling them that way.

 

Would these parts be interchangeable between various makes and models?
