SES light....revisited.....

In a way this is a repost...anywayz...Ok a while back BEFORE i installed my Frankencar intake (not after) i was getting an SES light..just poped up out of nowhere as i was driving home from class. I reset the ECU and it didnt come on again until the next time i had classes (Monday) well it came on about the same time again, while i was on my home. So i reset again and it stayed off until Tuesday night...anyway...what im getting at is that my car is RUNNING PERFECT, no problems at all what so ever and gets required maintenence ON SCHEDULE. And it seems (maybe just me) that the SES light comes on only when i am on a long trip. Like i said it stayed off all weekend but on my home from class on monday it came on again. it always happens to come on around every 150 miles or so. Maybe this is coincidence but it always comes on when i am driving for a long distance in one day (back and forth to class is about 65 miles for me + any other driving i might do that day). Like i said...no problems with driveability or anything. And it started doing this BEFORE i installed my frankencar.

could be a faulty cat sensor, how many miles do you have on your car? This has happened to more than 3 members around so cal and we all took it in to the dealer for a more updated ecu program

I have around 58k miles on my car. so it could be a faulty cat sensor?? did they do the service under warranty or did they charge? like i said no driveability probs, and if i reset and like go on short trips the light never comes back on (never came on all weekend after i reset on thursday, came back on Monday on my home from class again)....but its days that i spend a LOT of time driving that it will just come on.

I had the same problem, no performance problems.. but the light really bothered me so I took it to the dealer. It should be under warranty, but it looks like your 58k miles put you over it. Just take it in and tell them that the light is on and talk to see whats up

Flash

I just had my ECU flashed yesterday by my dealer, which was supposed to address my SES light coming on. It's been plaguing me since I hit 30K miles. (I'm at 32K now.) Light would come on, but would throw no code.

He just got it in Tuesday. (Which is good, since I got another light on Sunday...) I've been waiting two weeks for it.

I've got no clue whether this is a new upgrade, or that they just haven't had to deal with it until me. I don't have the paperwork yet, since I waited for the car. They're going to mail it to me. I'll follow up on it if I ever get the work order.
