I know the Rear sway bar is great for minimizing bodyroll but I was also told that getting an RSB will actually make the ride quality for my 2001 Maxima "rougher" and(or) bumpier on straight-aways. Say it ain't so....

swaybars

My experience with swaybars typically do not increase stiffness in ride quality since the bar is not a spring. It will flatten the roll during cornering since the bar ties the right wheel travel to the left wheel travel, left goes up so does right preventing roll (basic explanation). I would not worry about a stiff ride by adding a RSB.

I installed an RSB soon

The car feels much more planted on the road. I wouldn't say the ride is rougher at all. It was definately worth it.

I noticed a decrease in ride quality after I installed mine. Think about it; it stiffens your car's frame up and puts more of the dampening action on the shocks/struts. n I saw a FAQ somewhere that stated the same thing too. I think the increased handling was worth it though.

It doesn't waddle like a fat cow any more while driving down the road. The bumps don't feel any harder to me.

I put my RSB on just before winter set in. Pavement separations are now jarring, and potholes are murder...
