Amber/Yellow Foglight Options Besides PIAA Yellow Ion?

I know foglights have been discussed at length, but a different question. Previously I had ordered PIAA Yellow Ion bulbs, but had read from some of you that they aren't yellow a la the IS300 and other Lexus style that some of us like. The question is, are there any bulbs out there that produce yellow or amber light like the Lexus style? I don't care too much about intensity or anything, I just like the coloring. Anyhow anyone's help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone? Anyone maybe coat their lenses in amber, I think I've seen that somewhere also.

I think the Lexus cars use a yellow lense of some kind to produce that light...i dont think there is a bulb out there than can reproduce that.

I believe a few people have used yellow/amber translucent paint to get the color they wanted.

Ghetto mod way..

A person on the GrandAM forums opened up his fogs and put some kind of yellow film on the lense of the fog itself (might be saran wrap..don't know exactly) and used a blow dryer to 'fuse' it onto the lense. Probably not a good idea though if you just want to see how it looks b/c the fogs cost so much.

I saw a headlight film on one site, from some Japanese company, that is yellow/amber, and I saw headlight paint from Vans that also is yellow. I am wondering if I should try one of those products.

The headlight paint would probably work really good. If you do it, get pics!

Pro Lighting Solution

I was looking into color "gels" used in flood light over head at a concert. They have some that are extra-high temp, although the normal versions are still used to being next to 200 watt bulbs.

What bulb would be the best to shine through a yellow gel? I assume the most pure white color temp right?

I would recommend not using those films. I've seen them peeling on other cars that had them applied to their headlights. Looks like **** when it peels.

If I use headlight paint, that's supposed to go on the inside of the lens correct? I will have to figure out how to take the assembly apart or tape off the sides. Should be interesting....
