Questions about buying a new car that is not close to me..

i want to get a certain type of 2k2 max and I've found several to my liking but they are a good distance away from where I live. Now I'd be willing to drive the 3-4 hours to pick it up but how do I know if the car is in good shape besides pictures? They are all relatively low miles 12-15K so they should be under warranty? Should I have it taken to a nissan dealer to go over the car before hand either way?

thanks.

I would have a local dealer look at the car. Or at least a reputable shop. Mechanically, it's really not a big deal as the car is under warranty. Have them check for any damage to the body, etc. It will be a small investment that will give you a lot of peace of mind. I bought a 16 year old Porsche off Ebay last year. Never saw the car before it showed up in my driveway. I had it checked out by a mechanic and it was exactly what he said it was.

I just recently went through this. I live in Florida and i found a 2k2 maxima in West Virginia. i had the seller take it to a nissan dealership and inspect the car for me. Then he faxed me the results, nissan even helped me ship the car.
