will the 4th gen Greddy cat-back system fit the 5th gens?
i noticed that it says 97 and on....
and the same Y-pipe fits both 99 and 00 model...
anyone know?

 

The same y-pipe will fit the 97 and 98 models because there's an extra extension for them.

If 4th gens need to modify their car to fit a 5th gen muffler, I assume we have to modify our car to fit their cat-back.

 

The only work required to make the 5th gen muffler fit the 4th gen is the "turning" the mounting flange. The 5th gen's flange is turned in the opposite direction. Find a local 4th gen Max and take some measurements. I would bet it would be very close. Nothing a exhaust shop couldn't fix in 15 mintues.
