So I'm thinking the truck driver thought it was in reverse when he had it in 6th, popped the clutch, car slipps of the edge, too late now, Just hang on for the ride

Hmmm...I wonder if the airbags went off. Speaking of in 6th...Every time i take my car somewhere to have something done (carwash, tire rotation, etc) it takes the mechanic 10 minutes to figure out how to get it in reverse. I love looking out the window seeing their perplexed faces. That shouldn't be that strange of a concept, the lifting the ring thing. My moms 1980 something Volvo had that. The Max isn't the first.

Those wheels do not look like a 2K2 or 2K3. If I am not mistaken, they look like AE wheels. The 2K2 and 2K3 have a very small center cap.

It's definitely a 2K2 or 2K3. I don't think you could get majestic blue before 2K2. Look at my wheels in the pic in my sig right below it. Same wheels, but mine (2K2) has the cap around the lugz.

2k2 and 2k3 dont have center caps. our lug nuts are exposed.

Other than the wheels, it looks like a 2K2/3

That car right there might be a AE.. It has center caps on the rims. 02-03 has center caps but only a center bolt cap, not for lugs. that car there has the big center cap. If not the AE, it might be a Gray luster or Sherwood Green.

majestic blue was available in 2001 on the AE models.

if you zoom in you can tell that they definitely are not 2k2/2k3 wheels. they look like 2k/2k1 wheels with the center caps removed.

i cant tell if it has an AE kit on it though. something about the splash guards (or lack thereof) should be able to tell us what year it is too. i think AEs did not have rear splash guards. just front ones. and early 2k2s did not have front ones.

here's a bigger picture with better lighting for anyone who wants a better look:

Looking at that close up of the wheel, I definately think that is an AE in Majestic Blue. Those do not look like 2K2 or 2K3 headlights either.

That's an AE definitely. Look at the headlights. Also, Majestic blue in 01 was only available on the AE. It became a regular color in 02, and the car doesn't look like an 02. The reason it's not kitted is because either A) it's Canadian or B) the American AE's came to the dealers without a body kit and all the American dealers were required to put the kit on themselves. So fresh off the truck like that, that's what it would look like (minus the mangled front end). Damn funny pic.

I'm amazed how well the front of the car held up, considering the weight of the whole car was against it. It doesn't even looked damaged. Hell, the paint on the nose of the car looks better than mine!

I agree that it looks more like an 01 AE rather than an 02-03.

Can ya imagine if the owner of that Max was a member here and didn't even know it was his/her car?? some body work yes, depending if it fell foward or backward, but if backward, I'd say a whole new suspension for it.

Now I know why my gut instincts were telling me to stay away from majestic blue.

To be honest with you guys, I'm going to have to pull a on that picture. There's absolutely no serious front damage, and the way cars are made now, any soft impact in the front creates a mess. All the cars are designed to take on the brunt of an impact on themselves, which also leads to serious fender benders even at like 5mph.

So, if this Max truly fell off the rig, then I would imagine the front bumper/hood would be pretty smashed up.

Guys,
Check this thread out, it supposedly explains why this happened to the Max. I got this link from the site that posted the pic!
http://www.tardsite.com/Lost%20Job.htm
Still think there is going to be some discussion as to what model year it is though.
Enjoy!!!
