Got warranty notification in the mail. Is this legit?

It is from the "Motor Vehicle Warranty Notification Dept."
Electronic Processing Center
Fl Lic- # A127943
1191 E. Newport Dr. 100 Deerfield Beach, Fl 33442

It says in bold letters " Warranty Notification" and has this number 1-800-240-8470. It says to have mileage and Owner ID number ready. Is this a hoax or what?

Sounds like spam, turn over to FL Attorney Generals Office, the'll know what to do with scam artists. Lived in FL for 15 years those guys come out of the woodwork like the roaches they are.

I don't know

I had a letter that sounded similar and it was basically a recall notice. You can try calling the number and finding out.

3rd party

Those are often 3rd party extended warranty companies.

Not a lot of science involved - they just get VIN# and service dates and mail out a bunch of crap.

Throw i away unless you care to call nad find out what they are offering - sometimes they give gifts - like those time share people.

More than likely it is an aftermarket Warranty co. like Simon says<no pun intended. I got one when my factory warranty ran out and I think it is a good idea, I have coverage til 130k on engine, tranny and other components for 1100 dollars.

I think it is worth it and you probably won't find any cheaper ones that'll cover so much for so little, it's basically insurance for your car's life, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I received the same letter concerning my '98 Quest and it was just an extended warranty offer.

I don't remember 'cause I threw it away but if you do the math, most extended warranties are a waste of money if you buy a reliable car and if you do your own repairs like I do. Don't waste your money.

Ya, I wasn't planning on it. The only way it would be a deal is if you bought a lemon.
