was in an accident. need help asap

ok. i got into an accident 2 days ago because where i go to school there's alot of snow. a car cut me off, i broke, and slid into the rear. i have a 2k2 se

got an estimate for around 5000 for a new headlight, radiator, front bumper, grill, and hood, and whatever other parts go with it. painting was included in the estimate.

i'm lookin to get used parts or parts from a 2001, or a 2000.
my questions are:

1) is the 2002 bumper different from the 2000, or 2001

2) is the 2002 hood any different than the 2000, or 2001

3) the grill came out to be about $200. the aftermarket grills i've been seeing, are those covers that go over the stock grill? or whole grill replacements.

4) did the 2002 GLE's and GXE's come with foglights.

i think thats it for now. i know that the hood for example will fit, what i was wondering was if they made the 2002 hood any lighter than the 2000 or 2001.

thanks a bunch guys. all comments are welcome and any little bit helps.

now i gotta go raid the local junkyards. piece.

OH ~!! and all u nyc flushing Queens NY ppl. know any good shops that do great work, cheap price, with a good painter? thanks.

the only place my family goes to is this korean place which does good work, just seem's kinda shady sometimes. haha if u kno wut i mean.

If you get a used 2000/01 bumper, Im sure the grill would be included with that. The 2000/01 bumpers have a smaller opening on the grille than the 2k2+. I really dont know much about compatability between them as well as the hoods. Fogs lights were available those years, probably standard on the gle. Headlights, you could probably down grade to regular halogens but you'll have some wiring to do. Keep in mind, of you use 2000/01 parts, you could kill the resale value of your car, if that matters at all.

i'm already downgrading my headlights to 2001's.

also, it's my car forever. never gonna sell it. so don't care about the resale.

i hope you are a man of your words. Just wait til these little annoyances start kicking in. Also, why isn't insurance paying for some of this?

Re: was in an accident. need help asap

dude,

If you want to stay in Flushing, I know a good auto body guy. My cuz was in an accident with his 4th Generation max and they did some excellent work. I don't know the guy personally, but if you are willing to come to Long Island, there is someone in Freeport that my friends use. Up to you, send me an email or pm me. either or...

Andy

p.s. Why raid the junkyards? Doesn't insurance cover this?
