Suspected blown MAF
Suspected blown MAF
So I decided to mess around with my deck to see if I could get the subs to his any harder. After realizing I had blown the fuse AGAIN for my dash lights, I replaced it with my fuse for the heated seats, since I don't have heated seats. After getting my dash lights to show again, I leave my friends apartment and notice the Serivce Engine Soon light is on. I figure that it was probably no big deal and I continue to leave. As I hit the first light, I hit the gas when it turns green and notice that I'm going no faster than 20 mph and that my RPM needle doesn't go beyond 2,000 rpms. Does warranty cover MAFs? I'm going to change my injen back to stock when I take my car in, but I just want to find out if it is covered under warranty. Another thing is that my gas light was on. So I'm thinking I either grabbed the wrong fuse instead of heated seats, or maybe my gas was too low, or maybe it really is the MAF...Anyone have any ideas?

Here is a pic to show you:
Ah good news everyone!
Today I went to visit my car and the fuse panel cover was sitting on top of the drivers seat where I had left it. I looked at it, and the answer hit me, I had pulled the wrong fuse. Instead of pulling the fuse for the heated seats, I pulled the fuse for A/T Control.
I moved the fuse from the heat seater up to A/T control and my car works! Only thing left is the SES light is on, but I just disconnected my Negative battery terminal, as I heard that will get rid of the SES since there is nothing wrong with my car now! I'm so happy!

You can still blow a MAF with the stock airbox, it is probably just more difficult as the filter doesn't have oil on it. Nissan wouldn't put out a TSB MAF for 2ks and 2k1s only for those using an aftermarket intake. They don't like those who mod.

Ok, I went to buy another fuse for the heated seats, to hopefully get rid of the SES light, but after replacing the fuse, still no luck. Would unplugging the negative battery terminal again do anything? Does it cost money to figure out why the SES light is on? Thanks!
