Tire recommendation- Falken 512's
I just had Falken Ziex 512's put on yesterday and they are the best of many I've tried so far. I started with a deal to upgrade my original tires to Pilot Sport A/S'. They never did balance up after MANY tries and were VERY noisy (sounded like a truck tire at times!). The next try was with some 235/45-17 Turanza LS-Z's (I was trying for a quiet, highly rated tire) Not what I wanted. Car was squirming around back and forth on the highway, and riding rough on most surfaces and they were very bouncy. The Falken's are very quiet and have a great tread design. They still need some tweaking with the balancing (Town Fair Tire was GREAT to deal with as far as working with me to get me the tires I wanted, but they can't balance a tire to save their lives!) but I like them the best of the 4 I've had on there so far. Hope this helps folks looking to upgrade their tires. Also I recommend sticking to the stock size (225/50-17) after trying the 235/45-17's. Just my $.02.

Yeah, I got the Falkens before the winter to replace my Potenzas. They do have a nice tread pattern, but they don't seem to be all that good in the snow. I wonder how much better the Pilot A/S would have been?

do they move water?
I hate the closed outer block of potenzas
I just want a tire that wont hydroplane at 35mph even when new.![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
too bad they arent that cheap at ~145 each (but that includes shipping at discounttiredirect)
