window goes up, then comes down. by itself!

has anyone had this problem with their auto up feature on the driver window... (2k1) with the window down i pull up on the switch to the second position and the window automatically starts to go up and i let go of the switch. when the window gets all the way to the top it goes back down 1/4 of the way down.

it is really a pain in the butt to try and play with the switch to get it to stay all the way up.

i showed it to the service guy when i went to get an oil filter.
he said he never seen it before.so now i have to drop it off.

what a pain ,and i can't even get a loaner car. nissan service sucks!!!

like i have the time to just drop my car off, what am i suppose to do ,walk home.

i know this gm dealership that will give you a loaner for oil changes for the first 2 yrs. i thought i would get that kind of service w/nissan. stop dreaming!!!

Isn't there a safety if the channel is blocked that the window will stop or come back down a little? Don't know for sure though.

yeah, if something is in the way, the window will stop and roll back down. this happened to me, but it's because it's been so cold that that it's dry in my window track so it thinks somethign is blocking the path when it's just friction. some silicone spray along the edges should keep the tracks smooth with less friction so the window should go up and down easily.

it actually is working now, even with the 3 ft of snow and ice we have here in dc. go figure.

but when it warms up i will try some silicone spray.
thanks for the tip.

Yes, it is on page 2-27 of the manual.

Window tracks should be checked, as well as the window 'frame' to make sure it is not out of line.

Also, any new window tint or other material that may have the window 'thinking' it is hitting an obstruction?

I've also had this problem, I tried to have it fixed when I went in for some other warranty service and the dealer fixed it...temporarily, it started happening again after about 3 weeks. So, I'm not sure what I am going to do now either, maybe I'll check the track to make sure all is OK with that.
