Alignment on brand new TiSE

Alignment on brand new TiSE
I picked up my new Ti SE '03 Max on Saturday.
First thing I noticed is that it needs an alignment.
If I point the wheel straight, it pulls moderately to the left, and there is a noticable wheel vibration at 65MPH.
I didn't pay them until I had them write it on the contract that this problem must be fixed.
The sales man was very helpful and will personally pick up my car from my work location to have it fixed at my convenience.
BUT isn't this strange that a brand new car with 10 miles on it needs an aligment and wheel ballance.
Your thoughts and comments please?:mad
