60K service questons....
60K service questons....
im at around 59,300 miles on my car...gonna be taking it in for the 60K service pretty soon. Anything i should do in particular? should i get the spark plugs changed? if so what kind should i get (iridiums, or stick with platinums, im open for suggestions)? also i have a frankencar intake...should i change back to stock before i take it in or just not worry about it (my warranty is up anywayz...)? just help me out...any advice on the 60K service will help!
thanks

Don't worry about the intake if your warranty is up. They might try and give you crap about it, but just tell them to do the service.
Are you going to have them do all the service? Bringing your own parts? I don't quite get the spark plug questions if you are bringing it in for service?

don't worry about your mods - they can't and shouldn't say anything. your choice of intakes won't affect a powertrain warranty at all. in general, unless they can prove your mod caused a problem, you can do anything you want. now if you came in with a VB mod and complained about your auto tranny... that's different. but you should be OK.
i paid for the 30k service, and it was complete hose job ( no pun intended
). they did things like inspect belts and drain fluids that i could have easily done myself. my advice: go in ahead of time and ask for a complete list of what 60k service entails. try a couple dealerships if you have a choice - oddly, they seem to do different things (some throw in some extra inspections/service). compare this list to what's in your manual, and what nissan recommends, also maybe what's in chilton/haynes manual. then go thru the list and do all the stuff you can yourself. come back in with just the things you can't handle and ask them to do only those. saves you some $$, and you know more about what's going on under your hood that way. you don't need to pay your FNND to change your wiper blades or fill up your washer fluid... that's just free money for them.
i'm due this month, too - just rolled over to 60k. lemme dig around a bit and i'll post the list i come up with of recommended service. i should have it this week sometime.
