Does this hood rattle out on the highway? I wouldn't care if it rattled just as bad cause that hood looks awsome. For the guy saying your car is rice......? He's just jealous. Later Kev

Re: Re: Two pics of the VIS carbon fiber hood with Sparco hood pins

Thanks for the compliments.

I bought the pins while vacationing in Hong Kong, but here are a bunch of places that sell it:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...hood+pins+sale

Yes, I test drove the car already. If you want to read my opinions and experience, check out http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=190559

http://www.visracing.com if you want to get their hood. irvine78 sells carbon fiber hoods too (actually, the shop that made his hood sells them).

I didn't hear any rattles on the freeway... maybe there was but the sound of turbo spooling overwhelmed any other noise.

Just do a search for Maxima on that page and pull up the SplittingImagez.com group deal...They should be shipping mine tommorrow

I used the Stock Hood shock and didnt have a problem..also I think its better to have one,so you don't need to hold the hood or something...just my opinion...

I have to agree. That thing needs to be painted. Don't get me wrong, I'm envious and wouldn't mind getting one, but it need to match the rest of the car color or it's screaming rice. The stealth factor of a coat of paint would be

1/8" wider gap on the passenger side than the driver side. Other than that, the fitment is good.

Other than looks, is the only other reason to get a CF hood for weight reduction? How much lighter is the CF hood than our hoods? Aren't ours Aluminum?

For me, yes. The CF hood offsets the extra weight from the turbo. I don't have the actual numbers, but there is a noticeable difference between the weights.

No, our hoods aren't aluminum.
