Had some fun with a Firebird

So I'm on my way to school yesterday morning and I get to a redlight... The street is 3 lanes at this point but less than a block after the light the far left lane becomes a left turn only lane. People always go in that lane, then speed off the line and cut off everyone in the middle lane. Personally, I can't stand it when they do that. So I'm in the middle lane and a ricey old Accord is on my right and I notice a Firebird creep up next to me on my left. I think he thought I was just gonna ease off the line like most people do, therefore allowing him plenty of time to give it a little gas and still successfully cut me off. Needless to say, I didn't just roll over for this guy. Light turns green, I give it enough gas to get a nice jump, but not enough to peel out (which, by the way, is too easy to do in this car). The guy in the firebird gives it about same amount of gas but is 1/2 car behind me (obviously not flooring it). As his lane is about to end he finally realizes he's not gonna get in front of me, so he brakes and comes behind me. A couple blocks later I need to get in my right lane to turn onto my school's street so as I'm getting over I see that the Firebird was also in the process of changing lanes. Well he is pi$$ed that I also got over, so he dramatically swerves back into the left lane and proceeds to slam the gas and speed by me as I'm braking to turn. All I could do was look his way and give him a big smile

***Note to all those looking to flame: I know this wasn't even close to a race and I'm not saying that I would burn this car. I just caught him offguard and managed to pi$$ him off twice within 15 seconds... and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it.

hey man. i wont flame you. we had a similar setup at my highschool and in my old car (ford t-bird) people would go into the right lane and i hated that but could never speed up enough to block them off. when i got my max towards end of senior year i'd just press it 1/2 throttle and watch them brake real hard. granted half the kids trying to do this were my friends, but still they never picked on the max again.

If you went against a firebird you would smoke him in a street race. those cars are only 200hp, and only look fast. TA on the other hand is a different story, That car would kick your ....

Oh yeah, honestly not sure if it was a Trans Am or not... There's a good chance it was since I think i've seen him before heading the same way but I didn't get a great look at it this time and don't know what to look for other than the Trans Am badge...sorry about that.

I think the Maxima.org sticker I gave you helped you out.

Speaking of ricers, my god...my school is full of them! Of course almost everyone of them think they're fast and always try to prove something. A few times I played with them and of course kicked their *****, but now I think about it, it's just not worth it. No matter what I do, some just never get it. For example, a few of them would be reving their cars up while we both are trying to find a parking space at school. So now I just drive normal and let them do whatever they want, I just ignore them. *sigh*

Not in several years, they haven't. When was the last? Like, '93? Not since the most recent bodystyle change, right?

1993-1997 firebird formula was a V8.

base V6
firebird V8 (LT1)
trans am V8 (LT1)
trans am WS6 V8 (LT1)

formula was basically a V8 stuck into a V6 body

Firebird V8's ran all the way until the end 2002 model year.

Yep You can pick up a great used Firebird V8 for very little money right now (at least in the Atlanta area). Their resale isn't worth jack! Good car to mod for the track, too.

I'll be damned. I didn't even realize that they still made the Formula up until 2002. Do they have Formula badging? I guess either nobody around here has one, or, maybe I'm just a dumb-a$$.
