Anyone contact the paint inspector

I was thinking about contacting Nissan to have a paint inspector come out and check my front bumper and hood cuz it looks bad. It has a 101 Dalmation look. I was wondering if anyone who had a paint inspector come out to inspect your paint actually have your bumper or car repainted. What kind of info did you get from him/her?

Thanks for your input!

twice. the first time I was given a credit of 375 to repaint the front cap. But nobody wanted to paint it for that :/ I got the idea that I would be getting a really crappy repaint (was told as much from the body shop). So I took a service credit of $400 as the car was new and the scratches under the clear werent that noticible.

The second was small dots of clear coat peeling off the rear wheel arches right above the 3M tape. Took over 12 months to get the paint inspector to come out. I had to call repeatedly. Nissan agreed to repaint. However, in seeing some of that dealers other work, I didnt go back to that dealer. I need to call and see if I can still get it taken care of. But I suspect that too much time has passed.

Re: Anyone contact the paint inspector

I had my hood repainted through Nissan... not because of chips but because of a moisture spot that formed under the paint. Basically, you have to set up an appt. with the dealer and They will contact the paint inspector. The inspector will take pictures etc. You will not be able to talk to him. In my case they pulled the car into the back lot. Two days later you will get a call from the dealership whether or not your problem with be covered under warrenty.

Hope that helps.
