I want my 2k2 grill to look like this.....

Anyone with a 2k2 have pics and some brief instructions on how to do it out of gutter guard? I can't figure out how, and most of all, I don't know how it will look.

and it would be good if anyone has valence grill on 2k2 made from gutter guard too.

Thanks.

I like this setup much better than just having the mesh grill alone! Good Idea!

i think the 02/03 grill is too deep to do something like that. the grill goes back about 4 inches. i dont think you wouldnt be able to see the mesh behind it.

thats a nice looking grille but it wont look like that on an 02 like someone else said before - but i'm sure you can just drop the mesh in from the back and use some zip ties

You guys are right about not being able to see the mesh if placed behind the grill.
That was the first thing I tried. I was a little visible, but not to my liking.
2M0A0X2: It is easy enough to do. Basically, cut the mesh to fit in between the horizontal bars the way you want, and hold it in place with zip ties.It would actually be easier (less pieces). I had to cut 12 individual pieces for the entire grill, for the 2k2+, there aren't so many horizontal bars.
PM/email me for more specific ?'s if you want.

Once Grille-tech comes out with a piece for the top opening, I was goint to dremel out pieces to fit into the OEM grille. Hopefully it is not that difficult.

Yes, I bent the pieces so that the edges are pointing towards the engine.
I also painted them silver to match my rims.

Yes, zipties work very well, although you want to get the thinnest ones so they are not too visible. Also, the bottom piece (valence) is just a flat section...

That is a poor photochop I did (I do have the lower valences though).
But that is the look I'm looking for as well. Trying to find the same type of grill material that Grille-Tech uses (that's where I got the lowers). It's a round hole design - not the diamond cut you see everywhere. When I find the material I'll make templates and try it out. I'm big about not doing anything on the car that I can't revert back to original so I won't do it in a way that has to cut the original grill.

If I'm sucessful (anyone know where I can get the material?), I'll try it with a writeup (maybe I can do some sort of template .gif as well).

I've talked to Chris at Grille-Tech about it a couple of months ago, but they've got their hands full with fitment issues on the straight replace type grills they're making.

I like that a lot, as soon it gets warmer here in Chicago that will be my first project. Hey it beats paying almost $200 for it

well, the 2k2's don't have that "tooth" in the middle of the grill.

They slide in from the front. It would not be possible to slide them in from the back. Especially the top most pieces.
