Splash Guard Opinions - Color or Black

Color or Not to Color. That is the question.

I recently asked DaveB how much splash guards for a 2K Max are. He told me much to my surprise that there are colored ones for ~$77 (I didn't know you could get colored ones for the 2K. I thought that started with the 2K3 )

Anyway, I was hoping to get some opinions on whether to go colored or black (Nissan-Accessories has the black ones for ~$58). My car is Satin Blue but I have 20% tint and soon will also have window vent guards. I'm thinking with all that black plus the all the black window trim that the black would complement better.

I guess anyone with a light colored Max (like titanium, silver, white, etc.) would go through the same thing. Any opinions from those that have done it or those who are thinking about it?

Thanks.

Personally i like the color matched ones. I just put some on my white 02 SE.

I've got the color matching ones for my 2k3 Polished Titanium. Personally I like the color matching better. Otherwise it draws too much attention to the splash guards and after all this isn't a pickup truck with Yosemite Sam saying "Back Off!".

Get the colored/painted ones. They actually became an option in the mid 2001 model run. I originally had the black ones on my white Max, the ones same body color look MUCH better. Check my homepage, you will see.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

Like I said, I was just surprised they even have splash guards in my car's color.

can balck ones be painted?

any thoughts on trying to paint the black ones?

I mean if you're going to buy some anyway it won't matter if you f' them up.

I've seen some plastic stuff painted pretty well - if you know someone at a body shop they might be able to do it cheap.

Just a thought.

i painted mine using duplicolor touch up spray. the color matched very nicely, though it didnt have that hard clearcoat shine. that isnt much of a problem since theyre on the bottom of the car and not much light reflects off of them.
