Transverse Recall---- Problems

I have a 2002 max.....i bought it last march, during the month of july, just like so many other max owners i got my headlights stolen. So the car went into the shop, and while it was there they fixed the transverse link recall. When i finally got my car back, it didnt feel the same, the steering seemed to be different and the car always pulled to the right. So i brought it back, they checked it out and said it didnt need an alignment.. I am still unsatisfied with it,, has anyone had this same problem? And if you did how was it corrected? Also, one other thing.. Whenever i hit a bump it feels like i have no shocks and struts. I feel every little bump,, is this normal in maxes?

I know when I got the recall card in the mail, they said something about how you could loose steering to the car and crash. That's why there was a recall. I guess somehow the transvers link was something to do with steering.

But basically I have no idea what I'm talking about if anyone wants to add. (atlease I admit it)

The potential failure that initiated the T.L. recall is

a nasty one indeed, the link will actually snap in half at the point where the TL fits into the lower front suspension bushing, not a trivial matter. Believe me...there would be NO DOUBT in your mind if it happened to you because the whole front suspension would lose one of the only three mounting points to the chassis proper....you would have a big handful of a car in a nanosecond.

An alignment should take care of it but before that, check your tire pressures....

yea...same thing with mine...mine feels like it pulls a little to the right too and when i go over a bump it's like a thud if i am not going real slow...like the springs can't adjust...i thought it was my rear sway bar because i feel the thud in the rear....is that what yours does? do you have a rear sway bar?

yeah my car pulls to the left. Also when i step on the brakes it pulls to the left.. Its very frustrating. I do not have a sway bar or any additioinal equipment, only the way it came. And the littlest bump makes the whole car shake,,,,, i dont remember the max feeling like this before the recall..

Mine pulls to the left. I had the dealer redo the alignment 3 times. Still sucks!!!

I am so mad about it, I havent been back to the dealer since. I just cant deal with them anymore.

Did they do an alignment and said you didn't need a second one? Or did they do one at all?

The recall states they should do a 4-wheel alignment. If you didn't get one, GET IT. See if it helps...

My dealer showed me the computer printout of the alignment before and after. I didn't have to ask....GET 'EM!

A front 2-wheel alignment should be part of the recall since the transverse link is located at the front suspension. Take it back to the dealer and demand for a fix.
