2K1 tuning challenge.

Hey all.

I want to find out who has tuned their 2K1 to the most HP, and are still NA? I have a base line of 173.8 HP and am still working out some mods. I hope to get above 200. Since we have a smaller engine, no 2k2's please. I want to know who is the top dawg to beat.

Re: 2K1 tuning challenge.

Is you base number to the wheels, or crank? Are you an auto or 5 spd? If you're an auto, it'll take a lot more work to get the same hp to the wheels as it will w/ a 5 spd.

You can get above 200 I'd think, but there aren't as many mod options as there are with the 4g, ecu, cams, that sorta thing. You can certainly get 20 from a full exhaust, 5-10 from an intake, a couple from a UDP maybe.

Y is the best hp per dollar, followed by intake. Start there and let us know

Yes, but that is actual dyno numbers. The car was rated at 222 hp at the crank from nissan. You have losses along the way. My car is an auto, and that was all baseline runs to see where to begin. I had 93 octane and it was 60 degree intake temps.
I have since installed a warpspeed Y and have other mods planned. I will re-dyno when done modding. I wanted to know who has done their engine mods and how much HP they got. Has anyone actually got over 200 HP at the wheels on a dyno yet? Am I the first to dyno his 2001? No body has posted any numbers yet.

I have dyno my car twice and I only got 178hp, 2k auto, worpspeed y&b pipe stillen cone filter and hypher grounding wires. I thought like you, that I would be getting alot more hp.When i dynoed thay were at 2 diff places , so at the next stillen open house i will try again.

Where did you locate the Hyper Ground Wires? Did you try different location while on the dyno?

Supposedly, it takes a few pulls to locate the OPTIMAL spot, so if you are on the dyno and have an extra run, you SHOULD try moving them and seeing if it gets better or worse.

I've tested mine several times with a G-Tech Pro and consistently get around 160hp. Of course, this is real-world hp, including drag and road resistance though.

What was the rated HP on a 2000? Was it less than the 222? I ran 173.8 HP stock, nothing on it. I figure with my warpspeed Y I should get another 15 or so.

Sure it is possible - maybe not with an auto.

Here's a link to some of my dynos - most are comparisons dealing with my broken vias problem (don't ask).

Over 200 with y and intake. Haven't had it redyno'd with all mods.

Run 5 was 203.7 hp/191.7 tq.
