for some odd reason lately when i rev up to about 2,900 to 3,000 rpms my engine makes a funny noise like something is caught in the intake. Does anyone else have this problem? the car is bone stock except for an Injen intake and teh car is a 2000 with 55K miles.

 

Might want to check the throttle body and clean it. At 55K and the throttle body not being cleaned in the past it surely is going to be dirty.

 

can it be so dirty as to making a weird noise? and also somedays the noise isnt there, it kinda comes and goes

 

Maybe...it would be the first place to start, if that doesn't work then you would have to work with something else.

 

engine mount. does it sound like an angry cricket?

at that rpm, my car makes a clanking sound, sounds like the valves/cams since it clanks faster as the RPM's rise....
its not too loud, but when your driving by a wall or through an alley, you can definitly hear it

im a 2k2 w/ 15k....
you guys think somethings wrong w/ my car??? drives pretty smooth and everythihng seems fine except the sound....
