brake shims

hey guys
I'm about to install front rotors(stillen) and brake pads on my 2k2, and i called around local dealers try to get some brake shims. the cheapest price i found that's in stock in $34.50.
my friend told me it shouldn't be more than couple dollars.
if there anywhere i can find 'em at that price?

thanks

I think your stock brakes already have the break shims.

I dont know the first thing about car modding. I just read somewhere that the stock brakes have shims. I dont believe anything will happen. But don't take my word for it.

It depends on the condition of the shims. When I replaced my brakes my 99 the sims were all rusted and cracking so I replaced them. Look at them and then judge. When I first replaced them I just used some sand paper to take off some of the old anti- squeal.

good luck...

I had about 30K on my brakes before I changed them. Maybe less. but the shims were still in good condition so I just reused them..
