Tranny Fluid Leaking

I went to PepBoys today to have them change my tranny fluid to redline mt-90. The guy calls me in to take a look at the tranny and we see fluid seaping through the seal.

I'm thinking...great..another problem. In November, i had my entire clutch assembly replaced.. so, i am assuming it wasn't sealed properly. The have to take the tranny apart to see where it's leaking from. I had to fight with Nissan-NA to get a car rental (i don't have an extended warranty) because the service dept wouldn't get to it until Monday. After complaing about how many times i've been into the service dept. for problems, Nissan decided to give me the rental.

So, bad news turned out ok.. I was just happy to get a rental for once.

Has anyone else had fluid leaking from the Tranny?

yeah, I had the soleniods in my auto done and in about 2 months I had a nasty leak. if they tighten it down unevenly or too hard, it will crack the seal. I suspect the same kinda thing on your manual.

Hey Tim, so you think it's more an issue of shoddy service as opposed to something mechanical? The reason why i ask is because the tech said they wanted to see where it was leaking from on the inside. I don't know too much about what the inside of the trasmission looks like, but what else (other than an improper seal) could cause a leak?

Thanks

Where was it leaking from? The only thing that could possibly cause a leak after a clutch replacement is if the screwed up the seals where the axles insert into the transmission. Nothing internal should be affected by a clutch job that would cause a leak

If they want to disassemble the tranny, it must be an internal seal that's leaking and is not related to the clutch job.
