50% power gain with a supercharger?

I posted this before hoping some one knew a little more about the vortech superchargers then me. all i got was a bunch of junk and some kid whining aabout the power lost by his transmission. so i am going to try again

I have been told a few times that if you run the right superchager set up you can get near 50% more horsepower. then i read all this people talking about how much power they got on their maxima's and it is no where near that. i even saw a guy who was running smaller pulleys and wasn't near 50%. why is this? is it because they are not running a very good set up or do vortechs suck ( i did here that vortechs can make you run lean and that could be fixed with bigger injectors.) could it just be to much parasitic drag ( and if so will under drive pulleys fix that)or is the unit just to small.and finally if the 50% gain is true then can the maxima's manual transmission handle that extra power? ( i know that many other nissan's such as the 240sx can handle that kind of power)

Who told you that crap? It could be false advertising. Suppose the 2k2 Maxima has 255hp. 50% more hp means adding 122hp by simply adding a supercharger? Get real, dude!

There is no SC for the 3.5L yet, so he is obviously talking about 2K-2K1s. The 50% gain is not too far off base.

Yeah 50% gain is pretty common with a supercharger and an ECU remap + fuel injectors..

Votech makes great kits.

If people aren't getting 50% gain, they threw $3k+ down the toilet because they have no clue how to properly tune it which means they probably have no clue how to maintain it, either!!

sheesh..

Don't think you would want to use an UDP when supercharged...just my 2 cents

Because you'll be underdriving the blower.. remember the sc runs off the belts.. so in essence the blower won't be spooling as fast so like if you have a 3.125" pulley you'll be pushing the same as a stock 3.60" pulley. maybe even less..

You use a different pulley with the supercharger, thats where you get your boost.

Yes, you can boost a 2k1 automagic, or even turbo, just ask BigDogJonx. If you boost you almost need a full exhaust, no use trying it without certain upgrades, motor mounts, VB mod for autos, that sort of thing. A 2k1 will dyno at about 165-175 so getting an extra 80-90 at the wheels would be 50%

It's basically the same kit as a 5spd.. Only difference is that you will need to use a different air filter that comes with the kit because there isn't enough room in the front because of the auto tranny. There is no space to clear. I had the apexi in there when I was auto. But then after I blew my tranny I swapped to 5spd and now I'm using the jwt type filter that came with it.
