I have clear sidemarkers all around, amber lights in the front and red bulbs in the back.. but lately it's been getting a little pink/super light red color.

What bulbs are you guys running in your sidemarkers?
if red, what brand?
if hyper white, what brand?
if amber, what brand?

hyper white polargs. They looked more white than piaas and I didn't like the piaa leds. You can get them pretty cheap.

Just for a side note.... I'm selling my PIAA sidemarker for 10 bucks.... throw in shipping for like 3 or 4 bucks.

I've run so many bulbs in my sidemarkers that I just decided to paint them and not worry about but heres what I know.

Polarg - Nice bluish white color, not too much of either.
PIAA plasma blue - Very blue, looks nice but cops dont like em much.
PIAA super plasma - Very very white. I have a pic on my homepage of these, I believe page 2.
PIAA Xtreme white - More blue than the Polargs, but not as blue as the PIAA plasma blue.
Red/orange LEDs, looked stock at night but look clear in the daytime. I would be using these, but my car doesnt seem to like them cuz they kept on shorting out.

I know theres another bulb I've used, but I cant remember what it is. Anyway, hope this helps some people out.

If your worried about the cops bugging you then keep the colors stock. I have LES's and as mentioned before red and amber LED's look great but in the day non existent. If your not worried about the cops then go hyperwhite with te bulbs listed above. Where i live the police have a hard on for pulling over modified cars so I stay stock.

I have the LED's also. Look very red and amber at night. Markers are clear during the day. I like them a lot.

I put my red sidemarkers back on the rear, but kept the clears up front.

I've been running APC Super White bulbs up front, and I really like the way they look. When I had the clears in the rear, I tried several different red bulbs, and they all began to look pink over time. All except for the APC red bulbs! They kept a nice deep red color for the two months that I had them in. I know APC is kind of "ricey" in most people's eyes, but they make pretty good bulbs. And, at $6 a pair, they're pretty cheap, too. I got mine at Advance Auto Parts.

Oh... p.s.-- I tried a LOT of different amber bulbs up front, and hated the "pee" yellow color that they produced. Check your State law, and see if it's legal to have white up front. If so, go with white!!!

Y2KSESTEVE & Limsandy,
What brand of led's were you using that gave you the correct color at night. White is illegal here in Maryland. Thanks.

I bought the amber and red LED's from Midnight Moose. They were faily cheap and provide OEM quality light.

Igor911,

I'm thinking about going with clear markers too. Anyone have a source for amber/orange LED wedge bulbs? I checked out Midnight Moose but they don't list an amber/orange LED, just yellow. Every now and again I'll find them on eBay, but they're rare and pricey.

I use whatever came with my clears up front (they are some sickly orange color) and I bought APC red LED's for the back. They look awesome at night, can't really tell in the daytime. They kind of give a diffuse red light over the rear sidemarker, if that's anyway to describe it. I did go with cheapo wal-mart red bulbs first, and those came out pink, so that's why I went with the LEDs.

thanks for the posts. The cops around here in L.A. give mixed messages on what they actually pull you over for. I just wanted to change the red bulbs I got in the rear right now cause their looking pink and the fronts are looking pee yellow.

Does anyone think that the hyper white in front with a red bulb in back would look weird at night?

Larrio: I don't know if you are into these. But I have leftover LED's from midnightmoose.com. They are the hyperwhite LED's. Personally they look hyperblue to me. I had them in my sidemarkers and just took them out and replaced with something else. I think I have about 3 pair on hand. I can bring them to the meet this weekend if you want to try them? Heck I'll just hand them over to you then...I really have no need for them.

Well i have same setup as you amber in the front and red in the back, i got my bulbs at the local carwash. When i see it starting to get pinkish and the orange getting a little light color i just buy new pairs...its cheap.
