Gauge Pods...home grown?

I am looking to make my own stuff and have some ideas what I want to do. I am looking to try alternatives to pillar pods.

But the one thing I am missing is "how" to lay fiberglass and where to get it. Can someone point me to a "how to" for procedure and a place to get raw materials?

I also need the OD of the fitting side of the gauge and the depth of the gauge. The morons around here wont let me remove it from the box to measure it. I am looking at the mechanical sweep for boost and such.

Thanks
