removing the oval tip

Anybody know how to remove the oval tip on the 2000-2001 mufflers? I removed the bolt at the bottom of the tips, and tried to pull it off but it will not budge.. any thing else i need to do or just use more force?

grease it up and then hammer it from the back with a rubber hammer

I don't know for sure if this is true or not... but someone on the .org said it was WELDED on as well as bolted. Let us know what you find out eh? I wanna have mine pulled out some since the Stillen rear valence hides it a little.

I got the tip off before... lots of patience and a rubber mallet shoud do. I also applied liek a half a can of WD40 in a process.
The guy who I bought the Y-pipe from threw in tips off his SE muffler that had been cut off. So I took off the tip and put it on my GXE
