!!!Nissan Paint Litigation for 5th Gen!!!

I was doing a search on Google and I found this link for a law firm in Tampa, Florida and I submitted my information.

Here is the link:

http://www.tzalaw.com/pages/781520/index.htm

About 20 minutes after I entered the information, one of the partners called me. His name was Paul Thanasides. He said that they have been investigating this for about 3 months now. This lawsuit got started because of one of his friends. From what he told me, his friend has a 2001 SE black and the excessive paint chips came up in one of their conversations. They started looking on the web to see if other 5th gen owners were experiencing the same problem. They found the thread on the org.

He is going to be e-mailing me more information about this. I will post more information as I get it.

In the meantime, go to the link above and fill out the information.

Hmmm... The web page does not specify what damages they are seeking. New paint jobs? Free nose masks?

I've got one small chip in 1500 miles of driving. Only had the car 5 weeks too. But I dunno, I just see it as a consequence of driving on public streets.

I just filled out the form.

I hope they don't just offer us some nose masks. I just touched my car up and put on the 3m invinca-sheild. I want my car repainted with some decent paint dammit.

I have about 1700 miles on mine and have two small chips in front. Your comment about being a consequence of driving on public streets is ridiculous (IMO). Don't take it personal, but if you have ever owned a previous car made before say 1998, you see that there are probably VERY FEW chips if any on the front because of the way paint jobs USED to be performed. Now, on these, it seems as though the problem is clearly evident that its not the streets, its the paint.

I remember complaining about Nissan paint during the first couple thousand miles on my Max.

But as the miles started racking up (21k now) i noticed that the chips have stayed the same, nothing new came up - and that's even after a 5600 mile road trip.

I'm starting to think that the paint is just somewhat vulnerable until it's completely settled in the metal.

He said that they are seeking for them to pay for repainting the entire car.

Keep those inquiries coming!

I'll do a little research on this as I'm in Tampa. Also, I have a strong hunch on who the lawyer's friend is and if I'm right it's someone from the org who is also a lawyer. Obviously, I can't do anything now because it's Friday night but I'll check it out on Monday and post what I find here.

I bought one last summer, a few months after I bought my car. It protected the area that it covered but the chips got alot higher on my hood. I stopped using it.

If you have not used it, return it if you can.
