heated mirrors?

Hi all-this might be a REALLY stupid question, but I bought my car used about a month ago, and the window sticker says it has heated mirrors. I dont see any swithes inside the car,and the manual doesnt even mention heated mirrors. Are they just on all the time?

Thanks

Tom

The heated mirrors come on when the defroster is used on the HVAC controls.

Re: heated mirrors?

I believe that the mirrors are triggered by the rear defroster switch. From page 2-15 of my manual:

To defog/defrost the rear window glass and outside mirrors, start the engine and push the switch on. The indicator light will come on. Push the switch again to turn the defogger off.

It will automatically turn off in approximately 15 minutes.

Keep in mind that my car is Canadian, but I can't imagine there'd be any difference in this situation.

Hope you're enjoying your car.

They come on when you turn on REAR window defroster.

Read my post above, it's pretty clear that the manual states the heated mirrors come on when the rear window defroster is turned on.

I'm not positive as to whether or not the heated mirrors are standard on all Maxes or if you need to get the Meridian package. In Canada, the option packages were different than what was sold in the US.

I just realized that the original post was for a 2000 Max. The info I posted above was for my 2k2. I'm not sure if it's the same with the 2k/2k1

Sorry if I caused any confusion.

[talking about 2002/3 Max] You need to get the Meridian Package (in the US at least) to get heated outside mirrors.

As far as turning them on on a 2000 Max, I'd imagine it would be the same way.
