Rear splash guard...missing

Just got off the phone with my dealership, they are replacing the missing guard under warranty. Ba-BOW!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!

The bracket was on the car when I bought it but they never put the shield on (like many other 2002 - 2003 Maximas). Some dealerships are covering this under warranty and other's are not...I got lucky.

Are we talking about the splash guard that protects the fuel filler tube?

remember tho, Nissan isnt installing that guard because of possible corrosion.. this means that they also *may* not be using as much rust prevention in that area (as they used to). If you live in a salt state, youre going to need to keep that well clean.

I just bought my '03 Max and it has the shield in place. After the recall for 3rd gen Maximas and the problem with corrosion in that area, you think that they would have learned their lesson. Now that I know my car has one, this weekend I am going to take it off and make sure that the area has been undercoated well.
