Maxima HIDs in a Sentra...grrr

yeah, so I stumbled across these clowns retrofitting Maxima HIDs onto their sentras.

While I think it is an awesome technical achievement on their part and a good idea, the way in which these people did it is just so unnacceptable. I actually joined the board to post about it because it ticked me off so much.

http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/show...5&pagenumber=1

edit: to give you the quick summary of the 3 page thread, somebody essentially rented a maxima, took the HIDs, and returned the car with the rental company being none the wiser.

Wow. That really ****es me off and makes me dissapointed in our fellow Nissan owners. A lot of the people were defending their member for stealing the lights. I know that every single person here would be mad if their lights were stolen. And insurance might not cover the costs of having them replaced. I guess you really can't trust many people.

What does that say for the Nissan "Band of Brothers"? Man, our own kind doing it to us (even if it is a rental).

yeah, I can't imagine judging people by the car they drive, but I have considerably less respect for the people on that board. Rental maxima? doubt it. He probably just bought them off of somebody that did steal them. Considering that removing those lights carefully is at least $1500 damage, I cant believe they think that is nothing. in the worst case, its about 1/2 the cost of a sentra.

One of us should find a way to get access to

that forum and nail the SOB's.

Can we start a thread about Sentra SERs as second cars and talk abiut how we need some midnight requisitioning of SR20DE's to turn them into DETs in revenge for them purloying our HIDs?? That would get their attention, would'nt it?

True, stealing something, anything from a rental car is morally questionable, but still, if you try to see it objectively... whatevers. Maxima people taking the act to heart because of all of their precious HIDs.

Rental car companies all insure their cars. *shrug*

Food for thought: How many people here have never taken towels from really nice hotels? Granted, there is a huge difference in value, but hey, stealing is stealing no matter how big or small...... right?

no, at some point its grand theft and criminal mischief.. stealing a towel = shop lifting.. but not really since they just bill your credit card anyway, or so they say.

It's amazing that only a few people have spoken out against the guy. I live within an hours drive of that guy and that scares the **** out of me. DC generally hasn't been hit hard with the HID thefts, but it appears that things are catching up. The morality of the young people today is non existant.

It's frightening. Did you see how many of the people in that thread stuck up for him?

These are your leaders of tomorrow.

Very sad ...

I don't want to upset all of the young people here on the org. I realise that there is an exception to every rule.

Young people are like that because the OLD people don't hold them responsible for their actions. You will not deter HID theft with some new anti-theft kit; you deter theft with stiff criminal penalties and protection for those who will defend their property vigorously.

you got to be kidding me! stealing towels from nice hotels? nice towels aren't that expensive...and you don't feel like a criminal when buying them from Nordstrom/Dillards/Macy's.

stealing from a rental car is morally questionable? are you a thief? stealing from ANYTHING/ANYONE is morally WRONG, not questionable...

what is wrong with you people.

There are still kids that are on the right track. You don't hear about them, just the dumb-a$$ thieves and other trouble makers. Making the Honor Roll 6 semesters in a row, and getting accepted to a good college doesn't make the 6:00 news.

Don't get me wrong, it'ss sad, very sad, but they won't be our leaders of tomorrow...more like our jailbirds/criminals of tomorrow. They won't last long in society.
The Gen Y folk didn't start the fire...
It was always burning,
Since the worlds been turning.

check out this breakdown of that great billy joel song....
