Police should never use a FWD car for their cruisers or for pursuit. Too many disadvantages. Over half of Georgia's new model Impalas are completely disabled after a 30-35 MPH front end collision (that's over half of the ones involved in pursuit/ramming/spinning out maneuvers).

 

i wonder if the goverment had nissan put a police package into the maxima.

On Monday night two NYC Detectives who were attempting to purchase illegal firearms were slain by several scumbags. There undercover car was a Maxima. The scumbags stole the slain officers Maxima were it was recovered several blocks away. Im sure the max was a seizure car but has broad appeal to legitamate people and scumbags too. R.I.P. NYC Detectives.

 

I think the cop car clearly "fell back" to let the Maxima get ahead. But it was a nice video

 

I rented a 03 Max from Hertz when someone hit mine. It had a sunroof and driver power seat. It was auto of course and it had cloth but it was awesome. I think they'd make pretty bad azz cop cars.

I know in New York when they catch people illegaly racing and they impound the cars, they sometimes use them as undercover police or chase cars. I read a story about a 98 Mustang 400hp w/ Nitrous that was confiscated after a late night illegal drag race. One week later after a paint job it was on the street chasing crooks. Guess what it's hard to out run a 400hp mustang w/ NO.

I think they were detectives. Reason why I think they are detectives: My ex StepDad was an undercover narcotics sergeant and him and all his undercover buddies drive a Taurus and I see plenty of the down here in Miami.

I bet all of you are wondering how to tell the difference between regular and undercover cars....Pretty simple...The antenna. The antenna on undercover cars replace the stock antenna with 20 inch rubber antennas for their radios. Haha...might wanna look for 2 things now before you step on the gas: Cop cars and rubber antennas on a Taurus

Man, i live in south Fl (MIA) and love a once in awhile streetrace... I see plenty of Maximas around here and never got to race a 2k2 or 2k3... I want to so bad, just for the fun of it... I am tired of racing civic... too slow... and Now after seeing the undercover DT cars in MIA, I am scared I might race one of them... Oh well, I just got to use my instict...

I COULDN't agree more with you... if cops aren't in their typical undercover chevys or fords, it'll be impossible to spot them when speeding by the traffic on the NJ turnpike.
