This is really getting juvenile.

Why is everyone so damned concerned about what the Max "can" or "cannot" beat. Has anyone else had enough of these threads? I wish the moderators would just DELETE these STUPID threads.

Yes the Max is a very capable FWD car. Yes it "performs" better than a lot of cars. But jeez...get your rocks off somewhere else.

In all fairness this is the only forum I can think of that I participate in that hates "Kill Stories". There was a point in time when this forum had plenty of kill stories. WTF happened? Anyway guys relax, don't read the thread if it bothers you.

I agree. Not to long ago it was alright to talk about street racing, comparing the Max and other cars performance, kills and wins, etc.. Now it seems as though anytime a topic like this is brought up, haters on the board have a serious problem with it. I bought an intake, RSB, FSTB, and springs for better performance whether it be against another car or just driving like a mad man.

Everyone has their own opinion but if your opinion doesn't agree with someone else's, don't post your hate. Just ignore and move on.

The POINT is that its a repetitive, juvenile, chest beating, "my car is god" attitude. They are "constantly" going on. It does not promote responsibility in ANY way. There are no "facts" to these stories. Just observations as to what happened.

You beat a 911 Turbo? You heard him jump on it and you beat him by 9 cars lengths...WTF. Are you kidding? Are you serious. How can anybody prove that xxx car was "trying". You cant.

If you wish to participate in "kill" stories...go to those other sites then.

We grew up and realized that STREET racing is NOT acceptable nor responsible. And allowing these type of threads to exist is like condoning the exercise of street racing. You are seeing more and more stories of people dying in accidents due to "street" racing.

I am not attacking you. I am tired of chest beating. We all know what the Max can and cant do. Why brag about the illegal stuff done?

mine:

kill list:
the grandma who was crossing the street - I immediately pulled a 2 car length when the light turned green. She didnt even have a chance to put a step on the cross walk. When I was at my 2nd, she's already 10 car length behind me. Then I pulled over and waited a long time for her to come by. Gave her a thumb and took off!

high school kid on a bike - we were rolling at 5mph and I saw him looking at my car. So I rev the engine by tapping the gas pedal. I know he wanted a race because he stood up from the bike seat and read to use his weight on the pedal. So I gave him a head start, when he's half car length away, I slammed on the pedal and in a few seconds, I left him with my exhaust smoke.

how about a reply with some legal racing (the kind that is allowed in the user agreement)...

at the track lined up next to my friend in his SLK 320... I beat his reaction time and I beat his 1/4 time so I smoked him (first time at the track for me, 14.94 and he got 15.01, but I got him by .4 in reaction so I crossed the line almost 1/2 second before him... looked worse that it sounds).

also, same for a mustang 5.0 (mid-90s)... I got 15.0x and he got 14.8x, but I killed his reaction time so I crossed the line first.

I just need to practice shift points and get the RPM up when at the line and I'll get lower into the 14s.

See, this shows something. He has provable facts. We know both cars were particpating in the "race" so, we saw what the car and driver can do. Plus, we have a section for legal racing to do these discussions.

So let me get this straight your giving him $hit for talking about street racing when i could bet money on it that EVERY SINGLE person on this board at one point or another has raced someone on the street. I agree that it is very dangerous and no one should do it but you all seem to post how fast you have gone in your Maxima. To be honest with you i think it is more dangerous for you to be traveling at 130mph just to see if Nissan was telling the truth of what the car is limited to. Plus im sure you were as interested as i was to read what cars he raced and beat. You all viewed it didnt you? Just my opinion

None of these races were on the street! All races were conducted in a controlled envoirment. If you guys dont like racing or alteast knowing what your car can do, Why the HECK do you guys modify your cars?? Maybe you guys that are complaning are a little older them me and really dont have the need for speed. I payed the extra money to get a 3.5VQ because of the POWER! I could of got a 4banger civic, and saved a whole lot of money. I am NOT saying I drive like a crazy idiot on the street. I also never said MAXIMA are the fastes cars in the world.. I also have a 99 Firebird TA.

Yes, but this condones driving fast and possibly damaging the car. We can't have that around here. You need to find another forum where you can talk about driving more that 35mph.

I think you need to reread my previous posts again. Remember the word LEGAL and SAFE. Geez...before you comment...READ!

Born420,
Lumbee799,
Max0830,

It's been a rule around here since I've been here... "street racing discussions will not be tolerated." Don't like it? Go somewhere they do tolerate it.

Colonel... don't bother. Just report it and the thread will be locked.

How did you race a WRX from a roll on a track? Because if it wasn't on a track it was a street race.

Or maybe you'd like to explain "controlled environment" seeing as you've alluded to it twice but still haven't defined it.

Then what do you call 0-80 or 20-80? The last time I checked you don't race at a legal track from 0-80 or 20-80. If it was private property then whatever.

Street racing threads are discouraged in the general public forums, as it only encourages people to race illegally. LEGAL 1/4 mile track racing can be discussed in the 1/4 mile racing forum. Illegal street racing can be discussed in OT (anything goes), which you can have access too if you're a donating member.

There have been a few members of Maxima.org KILLED or seriously injured due to screwing around on the streets or street racing, so that's why posts of this nature are discouraged in the public forums. A lot of people here have sorta lost their taste for these threads, myself included.

I repeat, I do not race on the streets and I understand street races are dangerous
As they put innocent bystanders at risk. The company I work for owns a lot of Land. One of these locations has a flat straight road which is about 2 miles long. the races are held after hours and No one else has access to the area during this time. Everyone that is there is aware of the risk and I personally choose who gets invited and who doesn’t. We have been racing there for about 2 years and no one has been injured or killed. ( Knock on wood).

But what ever, I give up. If you guys feel so strongly about this issue…. Go ahead and lock, delete or what ever you do to the post

you'd better hope nobody gets hurt... your employer and/or families of anyone hurt is going to come after you and give it to you dry... in effect you are sanctioning this by "inviting" these people and if one of them gets hurt it's on you.

if I was you I'd think twice about ever doing this again.

Real kill story: I nail a Raven (or some sort of medium-size black bird) last year; I was doing a rolling start towards it while it was eating roadkill. When I nailed the throttle, IT became roadkill!!

yo dude, the reason why everybody is so defensive about street racing is b/c there are just so many stories (some personal) about people dying from doing it. Tell you the truth, i love street racing too, but after the stories that you hear/see/experience you just don't want to do it anymore

i used to drive all crazy, but its just not worth it to have a lil excitement. i'll still race at a stoplight up to like 50 or so, but no faster. highway racing is basically out of the question. if you want speed, take it to the track. if someone ever hits me while their drivin like a crazy man, i'll be rather upset, so will Max

Is there a difference between street racing/being stupid and occasionally just thumping an ******* in a volkswagen or chevy or BMW?
