AE sills mod install ???

I will be receiving tomorrow my AE sills which I will be placing onto my 2002 Max. How easy/difficult is this mod?? How do these sills mount, with adhesive or snap-locks?? Any advice on this mod would be great. I have printed out Pmas76's pages on this mod, but am still a little confused on this. I would like to think I am mechanically inclined, but seemed to miss the boat on Pmas76's instructions. All positive help/advice is appreciated.

Literally, this is a 'snap'. Basically, use your fingers to pry the old ones up using the holes, then snap the new ones down.

If they don't come off with your fingers just use a small flatop like I did wrapped with a towel over the head so it doesn't scratch anything. Just pry it up and you should here some snapping sounds. It's just the sills popping out of the grooves.

Thanx for the feedback!! It appeared that way from Pmas' instructions, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Are the AE sills pretty durable. I don't plan on being aggressive in their install, just want to know if they're VERY sensitive to being bent or damaged.

They're actually very flexible/bendable.

They will get scratched very easily...depending on where you live. I live in the northeast and mine need constant cleaning to keep them up but my passengers dont get the point and keep scuffing em up with their feet...those basturds!!!

Just make sure to torque them down to 35 ft/lbs. Any more and you'll snap the bolt head right off.

Torque them down?? asu174, not trying to be a smart-***, but are you sure you're replying to the correct post?? According to everyone else's replys, the door sills are suppose to be snap-ons?? What bolts are you referring to???

I was being dumb. Just pop them on. You can pry the old ones off barehanded. Don't scratch the paint with a screwdriver.

Well, I installed the AE sills this weekend and.... DAY-UM I love the way they look. The OEM sills were removed pretty easily (although I did crack the front passenger side) and the install was very easy. I love the way they (AE) look and have been getting great reviews from other people that say "Day-um, I didn't even notice these before...they look so sweet..."

Just be sure all the "snaps" are in all the way, one of mine was scratched from the door rubbing against it.

Don't even worry about the install, you'll see how easy it is once you start pulling the first one out.

If you like the way they look... You should see the Indiglo doorsills. They're just like the AE doorsills, but the MAXIMA words light up a cool blue. I have them, and they loook GREAT, not ricey at all. I get compliments on them allll the time!
