WHat the hell is that?! They said that they do not cover that kind of thing. It is put into the "wear and tear" catagory! I have 35k miles now, but the rust has been there for a while. It is on the lining of the trunk lid. You can only see it when you open the trunk, and it does not bother me fisually that much, but there should not be rust on my car! I know this probablly goes into the whole $h!t paint thread but I wanted to know if anyone else had rust.

Yes, it is covered under the trunk TSB. I had mine repaired under the TSB but mine still rusts.

I have a sterling silver 2K1 SE w/ 48K and have found paint coming off in the lower driver side back door and from the front passenger side lower. Contacted the dealer and they referred me to Nissan, talked to them and I am still awaiting response.

Wouldn't it be covered under corrosion? I thought I saw somewhere that it's 5yrs/unlimited.

If things don't work out smoothly with the dealer, call up Nissan North America, and talk to them. Some people have had much better luck going through corporate than through local dealerships. 1-800-NISSAN-1 is the number I think.

The corrosion warranty only covers rust-through. You actually have to have a hole in your body; anything less and they won't touch it. That is pretty universal for all manufacturers.

I had rust on my trunk lining from where it was scraping against the rear bumper. I had the new bumper clips from the TSB put on, but it still scrapped! My trunk lid was moved back a little, so it doesn't scrape as much.

WTF
I received a call from the Nissan Corporate office and basically told me I was SOL since I have 48K. Now I am driving a 2K1 with paint coming off from both sides driver/pass....I guess i might have to come with some dough out my own pocket to fix this before it turns into rust
