Engine swap

Does anyone know how or if a 300ZXTT motor can be swapped into a 2000 SE? Just an idea I was toying with.

Exactly how much money are you willing to invest in this

Even if the 300ZXTT fit (which I doubt it will) you would have to convert the car from FWD to RWD which means gutting the rear end and possibly a LOT of custom manufacturing to make it work.

I already went did the HW. Might as well buy 3 350Z's. With all the frame alterations to be done, You won't even be able to drive it on the street. They test emis on FWD with the front tires. If you tell them to use the rears, they will laugh and place the front on anyways. The cost of the damage is on you.

Re: Engine swap

I really just got into maximas and don't really know what they are capable of. i just bought a 2000 SE 5 speed. if anyone could help me out with the specs on this and it's capabilities, that would be awesome.
I owned a honda accord and you can swap just about any motor into one of those. didn't know that this swap would involve so much. that's why i asked. thanks.

dude...the whole reasons swaps are so popular on Honda's is because the stock engines are never ever enough. Not so on Nissan's, so get this swap thing out of your head. These Nissan VQ engines are solid as a rock and can handle very heavy tuning. They have been tested to over 400 whp (that's at the wheels) all on stock internals. There is NO NEED to swap because you have one of the 10 best engines on the planet under the hood.

Take this for what it's worth from an ex-Honda guy. 2001 Accord V6 (rip)

If you want some boost, there is the Stillen S/C, and a few different turbo kits out now and the VQ is more than able to handle it, as long as it's properly tuned.
