Is my A/C messed up?
Is my A/C messed up?
These past two days in Jersey have been spring days, and they have been in the 70's. I tried turning on my A/C and nothing but hot air comes out, sometimes a bit cooler, but mostly hot, is the a/c/ messed up or does it need higher temps to work?

As of the problem, run the A/C for a few days (if the weather allows for it), and see if it gets up to speed. If not, you may have a problem with the condenser I would think, not sure though.

No, never did that, dumb me. I don't know what to do, it's been two days in the 70's and the A/C blows out mild air. Should I wait for hotter temps or just take it to dealer?

Good luck
P.S. I'm sure someone here may know more about A/Cs, and will chime in.

Using recirculation can solve the problem of windows fogging up, but if recirculation is turned off, it's actually supposed to blow the cold air harder.
Just run by a full serve service station and let them check the level of freon in the system. Sounds like the level may be low and this would cause the problem. Shouldn't cost you anything unless they have to add some....
Or if you are still under warranty, run by a dealer and have them check it...

Do you have Climate Control in this Max?
If you do, make sure it's on AUTO and not ECON (econ doesn't use the AC, but AUTO uses whatever it thinks it needs depending on what temperature you set it to).
Hope this helps..

It must be the low freon situation, I tried every possible combination, it wouldn't come out cold air. I will pass by the dealer and have them take a look, I just thought it was weird, car is 10 months old.

1) turn it on set it to coldest setting
2) Open hood and locat the compressor. See if its clutching or not.
If its low you will hear it "click" on and off a bunch of times. If it does not click on and off at all, could be the compressor. But since its only 10 months old, I would have service look at it [cringe].
