My guess this is "borrowed" from motorcycles. Its called a "wavey" rotor. It was develeped to reduce unsprung weight on bikes. Instead of a "outter circle" its in a wavey designe to reduce mass. Dunno if it works or not but the are EXPENSIVE as all get out.

Nope didn't look like that at all, hopefully the link will work, it's funny.

Anyhow the last thing you want to do is take away metal from the rotors, the more mass the better. That's why Drilled rotors are a no no and some would argue Slotted rotors, specially under racing/track conditions.

Agreed. With the exception of cosmetic appeal, there is simply no rational argument that supports using cross-drilled, dimpled, or slotted rotors on a street machine.
